The Fearless Pod Commitment

How we commit to live with and care for one another.

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,  if ye have love one to another.”

John 13:35

A Fearless Pod is built on trust.

Trust cannot be required. It grows as people repeatedly choose presence, honesty, service, forgiveness, generosity, and love.

As a member of my Fearless Pod, I freely make the following commitments to the people in my Pod.

I Will Be Present

I will make a reasonable effort to know the people in my Pod and allow them to know me.

I recognize that circumstances and seasons of life differ. I will seek faithfulness rather than measure myself or others by attendance, availability, resources, or capacity.

I Will Protect Trust

I will treat personal information shared in confidence with care.

I will not turn another person's vulnerability into gossip, leverage, judgment, or influence.

When someone entrusts me with part of their life, I will treat that trust as a stewardship.

I Will Honor Boundaries

I will respect the dignity, conscience, choices, and appropriate boundaries of others.

I will offer help without creating obligation and receive help without shame.

I will respect each household's responsibility to make its own decisions. I will listen before assuming that I know what another person needs.

I will serve rather than seek to control.

I Will Seek Reconciliation

When conflict arises, I will seek understanding before judgment.

When appropriate, I will speak directly with the person involved rather than spreading grievances, gossip, or building factions.

I will be willing to listen, apologize, forgive, and establish appropriate boundaries.

I will seek reconciliation wherever reconciliation is possible.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:9

I Will Bear and Share

I recognize that there will be seasons when I have abundance and seasons when I have need.

I will give freely as I am able and receive humbly when I need help.

I will not keep score or measure another person's worth by what they contribute.

When another is burdened, I will seek to help carry the burden. When I am burdened, I will allow others the opportunity to help carry mine.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2

My Commitment

I do not promise that I will always agree, always be available, always have something to give, or never disappoint another person.

I commit to keep returning to Christ and to the practices that build, protect, and restore trust.

  • I will be present.
  • I will protect trust.
  • I will honor boundaries.
  • I will seek reconciliation.
  • I will bear and share.

Together, we seek to become more than households living near one another.

We seek to become neighbors who know one another, disciples who strengthen one another, and members of the Body of Christ who have learned to care for one another.
